I have not written a blog post yet for 2024. One of the main reasons has been my desire to take a break from being seen. Writing blog posts sometimes feels like the equivalent of strangers peeking in my window. The older I get, the more my main focus is my peace and my relationship with the Lord. With that focus on peace, I tend to want to go inward, be “in my shell,” and draw the shades. While I am not attempting to be a hermit, my threshold for tolerating the drivel that comes from dealing with others at times has become downright non-existent. While that in itself is a massive, personal victory, it is something I am enjoying offline.
If there are some words of wisdom I can give that might be helpful to someone, it is this: good boundaries and discernment are two of the most important skills you will learn in your lifetime. They will help you maintain your peace. It is my prayer that you will not only learn how to have better boundaries and keep them, but also that the Holy Spirit will help increase your discernment. I promise having these skills will change your life and keep you from experiencing immeasurable pain.
