A new year is on its way, approaching as chilly, fresh air being breathed in for the first time. It is inhaled deeply because it is untouched and without blemish. It is whole and it makes you feel the same.
Even though you may be leery or even fearful of what this new year will contain, you still hold onto a modicum of hope, that whatever unnerving experiences you faced in your past years are now in your rear-view mirror, no longer close enough to elicit the anguish you had not only surrendered to, but became enslaved to.
Now, with this restored freedom, you discard peacefully the previous years’ adversities, only intentionally keeping what is meant for your well-being, growth, and strength.
While you may be hesitant to add any brushstrokes on your new year’s canvas for fear of tainting it, if it adds to your well-being, growth, and strength, it is worth touching your canvas with brushstrokes that are comprised of your favorite colors that are fully and unequivocally you.
Then, when this new year comes to an end, you can look back on the kaleidoscope of colors you were able to create for your life. Colors that created hope, joy, peace, and meaning. Colors that you will want to share with others so they can add them to their canvas too.
